NASBA & AICPA Seek Applicants for 2024 CPA Exam Passing Score Panel
As you may know, NASBA and the AICPA are moving forward with implementing a new Core and Discipline CPA licensure model under the CPA Evolution initiative. The CPA Evolution-aligned Uniform CPA Exam (“the 2024 Exam”) will launch in January 2024.
With the release of the 2024 Exam, changes in content, format and structure will be introduced. These changes will require new passing scores to be established. The process to do so will include convening six panels of CPAs – one for each Exam section – to provide the groundwork for the passing score decision by the AICPA Board of Examiners (BOE), a senior committee of the AICPA responsible for overall administration of the Exam and setting its passing score. A new passing score determination is necessary in conjunction with the 2024 Exam to ensure that legally defensible pass/fail decisions continue to be made in protection of the public interest.
Panel Nominees
NASBA & AICPA are seeking applications (and nominations) for passing score panel participants. Applicants (and nominees) must be currently licensed CPAs who:
- Have been licensed for at least two years
- Have supervised entry-level CPAs during the past year
- Have NO affiliation with CPA Examination review courses, and
Are willing to participate in a December 2023/January 2024 1.5-day meeting in Ewing, NJ.
The selection of panelists from among qualified applicants (and nominations) will be made to ensure broad representation from all segments of the profession and demographic categories. Panelists will be provided training at the meetings on their responsibilities as panel participants. Note: participant travel, lodging, and meal expenses will be reimbursed by the AICPA.
