2022 GENERAL ELECTION REPORT

• General Election: November 8.
• All 140 legislative seats and all statewide constitutional offices are on the Alabama general election ballot.
• There are 55 Libertarian Party candidates on the ballot for various state and federal offices, in addition to the typical Republican and Democratic candidates. There are a number of 3 way races. A plurality is required to win.
• Governor Ivey (R) is a prohibitive favorite over Yolanda Flowers (D) and Jimmy Blake (L) to win a second full term.
• Lt. Governor Will Ainsworth faces token opposition from Ruth Nelson (L) for a second term.
• Attorney General Steve Marshall is opposed by Wendell Major (D) in his bid for a second full term.
• Katie Britt (R) faces Will Boyd (D) and John Sophocleus (L) for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by the retirement of Sen. Richard Shelby. Britt is a heavy favorite.
