AICPA sent a letter today to Treasury Secretary Yellen, IRS Commissioner Werfel and Congressional leaders to request that the IRS share its contingency plans for IRS operations during the possible federal government shutdown. The letter outlines several concerns and offers the profession’s insights to deal with “…issues, services and functions that taxpayers and tax practitioners are likely to need…” during the current and upcoming tax filing seasons.
